IntheLoop is looking for a AI Engineer Intern to join our team remotely for Summer 2025.

In this position, your main project will be the end-to-end ownership over the design, fine-tuning, and deployment of a generative AI agent that will integrate with our existing software suite used by our thrift store clients. You’ll also contribute directly to our core codebase—shaping product features, debugging critical issues, and shipping tools that support circular systems and real-world users.

We’re looking for someone with a long resume of side projects who is hungry to build, eager to learn, and inspired by hard, high-impact problems—especially those that benefit people and the planet.
 

What you’ll do:

• Design, prototype, and deploy an AI agent that enhances our core platform’s capabilities

• Debug, optimize, and document production code across our full-stack system

• Work in short, iterative cycles and contribute to weekly sprint planning

• Bring technical creativity to experimental ideas, rapid prototyping, and internal R&D

You might be a good fit if you:

• Are pursuing a degree in Computer Science

• Have experience working with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar languages

• Are comfortable with version control (Git), APIs, and shipping real-world software

• Have built your own side projects, GitHub experiments, or contributed to open source

• Have experience with ML/AI tools and libraries (e.g., Hugging Face, LangChain, OpenAI)

• Care deeply about sustainability, social impact, or building tools that help people

Bonus if you:

• Enjoy solving unstructured problems with limited resources

• Have previously worked in fast-paced startup or research environments
